Finally, the day has come – The Edutechnovation Day! This is the day where all groups will be presenting all of our video production. I was the Emcee… 🙂
The honourable guests were Dr. Maslawati Mohamad – TESL Coordinator, and Prof. Dr. Nooreiny Maarof, however, Prof. Dr. Nooreiny Maarof didn’t turned up.
Dr. Maslawati Mohamad – TESL Coordinator
The event started at 9.ooam. The first agenda was posters and storyboards pitching followed by presentation of video production. The judges were Dr. Rosseni along with Dr. Maslawati Mohamad and all the facilitators.
Kak Ana & Kak Wani
Poster and storyboard pitching, and video production presentation.
The competition was very tough as all groups have very great video production and it was very difficult for the judges to decide whose the winner as the marks between all groups were so close, even there was only difference of one mark.
At last, my group won the 4th winner…
With Dr. Maslawati Mohamad
With Dr. Rosseni Din and all the facilitators – Kak Ana, Kak Wani & Kak Zuraida
Alhamdulillah, Dear Allah! To be honest, for me, it is not about the numbering, it is not about the winning, it is about the “The Reminiscence” between me and my group members – Faiz, Aika and Sahira. We have done a great work together as a team named FASA Production! And never forget, Dr. Rosseni Din – our beloved Edutech Course Coordinator along with all the sweetest facilitators – Kak Ana, Kak Wani, Kak Zuraida, and Kak Aieda for all the guidance and knowledge throughout this semester. May Allah bless all of you. Millions thanks to everyone… and the last but not least, good luck to everyone for our final exam. May we pass with flying colours. Amin! Assalamualaikum and goodbye! 😀
TESLians 2nd Year Batch 2013/2017. >We are TESLians, We are Family<
Assalamualaikum! Here we meet again… We don’t have class this week, as Dr. Rosseni allowed us to edit and improvise our video production. All groups must be taken this opportunity to improve their video production, as well as my group, for sure. Therefore, we took a date, which was on 9th December 2014 to sit together and edit our video together.
We spent almost 2 hours 30 minutes editing our video. The full draft which the duration was 19:37 has been cut into 14:33, which we thought that we have done a lot of improvement in the beginning, in the middle, and in the end of our video such as cut a few mute scenes, add in dialogues in monologues, add in narrations, and changes of music background. We really hope that Dr. Rosseni will be satisfy with our video production final product. Amin!
Next week will be the Edutechnovation Day, and my feeling is mixed with excited and nervous. See everyone next week! 😀
Assalamualaikum everyone! It is now Week 12 and yes, it is the time to publish our video production. I’m pretty sure that Dr. Rosseni and the facilitators are really excited to see all groups’ video production, so do I. It is the time to each one of us to watch each others’ effort and hard work of producing our own masterpieces. For the first time, FASA Production proudly presents to Dr. Rosseni, all facilitators and our fellow classmates, our video production full draft, entitled “The Reminiscence” …
Faiz uploaded it in the FASA Production Facebook group on 5th December 2014, however, Dr. Rosseni seemed didn’t watched it. Therefore, he again uploaded our video in the Video Production UKM 4 Facebook group on 6th December 2014.
Alhamdulillah, Dr. Rosseni finally responded to our video production. Basically, she didn’t have much problem with it; nice videography, excellent focusing techniques. Her comment is just that the video was rather too long. And yes, I admit it, Dr.. Me and my group members realized that there are still so many things for us to improve on our video production. Thank you so much for your comment, Dr.. Insyaa Allah we’ll edit the video the best that we can.
Assalamualaikum and Good Evening from Asyikin Aridi! 😉
How time flies… It is already Week 11. As time goes by, so as my group’s video production progress. Alhamdulillah, our progress goes smoothly. Today morning, we had shoot a last few more scenes in several places in UKM area such as at the rooftop of Faculty of Engineering, the fountain nearby the Faculty of Islamic Studies, and at IRIS in Learner Diversity Centre, Faculty of Education. Yeayyyyy!!!
Only the editing part is left. It’ll takes time to come out with what we have plan, but insyaa Allah we will try our very best. May Allah ease everything. Amin!
I guess that’s all for this week reflection. I’m looking for the next class! 😀
For this week reflection, during the class on 21/11/2014, all groups were required to present our video production first draft. In other words, the progress of our video production that have been integrated, doesn’t matter if we haven’t done all the editing, sounds etc. because Dr. Rosseni and all the facilitators would like to have a look at all groups’ first draft. However, all groups including mine, didn’t prepared our first draft. This is because we thought that we only need to present our video production progress. Therefore, most of the groups presented their video production trailers. For my group, we presented a few scenes that haven’t edited anything. Nevertheless, Dr. Rosseni seemed satisfied with our video quality; very clear and high quality (Alhamdulillah! :D) Furthermore, she said also that me and my group members have talent of becoming a good actor and actresses. HaHaHa.
On last Friday (28/11/2014), we didn’t have class as Dr Rosseni wanted all groups to work on our video productions. Consequently, we benefited the chance given to shoot for our video production. We went to Pantai Saujana Port Dickson!
We departed from UKM at about 8.30am and reached Port Dickson at about 10.00am. The weather was very nice… We spent almost two hours here. After that, we also had our lunch here at the a nearby restaurant. Then, Faiz prayed Jumaat at the mosque here also. From Port Dickson, at about 2.00pm, we traveled back to KL but straight away to Presint 11, Putrajaya. We had shoot a few more scenes here. It was raining heavily, and yeah, there’s no photos that I’m going to attach here as it is going to be a surprise! 😉 We spend almost three hours here as it was raining heavily made us stucked in car. Alhamdulillah, we managed to get good shots. One whole day of shooting for our video production, hopefully Dr. Rosseni and all the facilitators will be satisfy with the results.
Assalamualaikum wbt dear Dr Rosseni, my beloved facilitators and all my classmates. I’m truly sorry because I’m quite busy lately with tons of on-going assignments. However, I never forget about Educational Technology assignment as well like my individual reflection blog, my group reflection blog, and the most important thing is, our video production progress.
We didn’t have class last Friday (14/11/2014) as Dr Rosseni allowed us to begin our video production. Unfortunately, me as well as my group members (Faiz, Aika, and Shira) really had other commitments to other things. Yes, we planned to begin our video production on that day. However, we couldn’t make it. BUT, we still looked for a time to begin our video shooting. AND YES, we managed to shoot a few scenes. The scenes are in the middle ones, before the climax part. Don’t worry Dr., insyaa Allah we’ll give our best effort for the upcoming scenes. Here are a few scenes (not including the video because we’re going to show it in class) … Stay tune! 😀
“Bersusah-susah dahulu, bersenang-senang kemudian …”
Assalamualaikum and Hello there! 😉
Here we meet again … This week class is about making our storyboard in “real” one. Dr Rosseni would like to hear all groups’ storyboard pitching in 3 minutes. She even provided us the mahjong papers, plasticine, marker pens and what not. As for my group, before we started to draw our storyboard, we planned about our scenes cautiously in order not to miss any scene. After some discussion, we have all together 17 scenes and we need two mahjong papers. Faiz was absent, therefore me, Aika, and Shira worked together as a team in sketching our storyboard.
That was me in red shirt.. focusing on other group’s storyboard pitching..
At the moment we were doing our storyboard, deep in my heart, now only I know of how hard to make a film/drama. This is why when a film production is planning to create a film/drama, it takes months or even years to produce a good quality one. After we have done our storyboard pitching, Dr Rosseni has commented something. She said based on our storyboard which we stressed on the theme of friendship, perhaps we can insert a hadith from the Holy Qur’an at the end of our video. That was a very good idea, Dr.! We never thought about it. Insyaa Allah we’ll look for the hadith. Thank you, Dr.!
Dr did mentioned that there’ll be no class on next week as she allowed us to start with our video production, and yeah, we should take this chance to begin our production as clock is ticking, I suppose. Our proper storyboard has 50% done, insyaa Allah it’ll be complete by next week. I really excited to begin my group video production! Before I forget, me and my group members have discussed regarding the places for our production. It is going to be Putrajaya, Port Dickson, and the areas in UKM, of course. May Allah ease everything, Amin …
I guess that’s all for this week. Stay tuned for our video production progress! 😀
Assalamualaikum … Hi everyone! Now we meet again and now its already Week 7, which means that we’re already in the half of this Semester One. How time flies … This also means that our video production has to be start one-by-one step that we have planned. No more playing, its time to focus on our project. So, we have done our proposal, which is to create a video production which will focuses on the theme of friendship entitled “The Reminiscence”. So, for this week, Kak Ana reminded us to get ready with the draft of our storyboard whereby we will be going to create it into a “real” one in the class on Week 8. This Week 7 also required all groups to present our proposal briefly in front of everyone, so that Kak Ana, Kak Aieda and Kak Wani will get the picture of our storyboard. After my group presented our video proposal, I still remembered Kak Ana said that, “I can feel that your video production is going to be a sad one”. Insyaa Allah … It is our plan to create a sad video production with valuable lessons.
Another thing is that Kak Ana reminded also to create a blog using WordPress and a Facebook account for each group. The blog will be use for us to update our progress of our video production since the week that we discussed about our proposal. Meanwhile, the Facebook account will be use for the purpose of uploading our update of our group blog. Last but not least, Kak Ana reminded us again regarding the NUCEL Competition. She really wanted us to participate in the competition. She said that win or lose is not the matter. The most important thing is the experience that we’re going to get besides the competition is at national level and we’re going to get certificate. I’ll discuss this matter with my group members. After the class dismissed at 12.00pm, me and my group members stayed for almost half an hour to discuss about our group’s blog.
Assalamualaikum and Hello everyone! It has been a long time I didn’t update my blog, right? Well, I’m quite busy with other assignments, organizations and so on. But, that’s my campus life! My mother told me once that we’ll not feel tired when we enjoyed doing things that we like, and yeah, you’re right, Mama… 🙂
So the reflection for this week, I am going to share about two things. The first one is during the class on last 17th October 2014, which was in the morning of the day that we went to Penang Island for the field trip. The second one is during we were at Penang Island capturing photos and videos.
During the class, Dr Rosseni was not around and the class was conducted by Kak Ana. Kak Ana has invited one of my classmate a.k.a. one of my group member, Faiz, to give explanation regarding the functions in a Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera like Nikon, Canon, and Sony. I also own a DSLR camera (Nikon), therefore I knew a little bit of the functions like aperture, shutter etc. that are commonly used when we take photos. We can either switch the setting into manual or automatic (suitable for beginner user of DSLR). Thanks a lot to Faiz as he has shared his knowledge to everyone in the class.
Now is the time for me to share our moments in Penang Island! We departed from UKM at 11.oopm (17th October 2014), together with Dr Rosseni and his son, Kak Ana, Kak Aieda and Kak Wani. We stopped at about half an hour at the R&R Sungai Perak along the PLUS Lebuhraya Utara-Selatan for a short break. It was raining and all of us were very cold. Finally, after 6 hours of journey, we reached Masjid Negeri Pulau Pinang at 5.00am (18th October 2014) and prayed Subuh here. Before the bus left, I managed to capture a few photos of the mosque.
Masjid Negeri Pulau Pinang (day version)
Masjid Negeri Pulau Pinang (night version)
To be honest, I really fall in love with these two photos. By the way, these photos were actually taken at 6:50am. We left the mosque at 7:00am, and we looked for a restaurant to have our breakfast. And yeah, I ate roti canai with teh tarik. Oh my God, its so tasty (Mamak style)! After we took our breakfast, we went to our first location, which is Masjid Kapitan Keling. We spent about 2 hours here, and here are some photos …
Me, Shira & Faiz
And three of us wore red color shirts which was never intended (hahaha :P). At about 10.30am, we went to the second location, which is St. George’s Church.
St. George’s Church
Me and my group members decided not to take so much photos here as asign of respect forthe houseof worship for the Christians. Therefore, we captured a few photos, we just looked around the church. I’m very happy to get this chance to visit a church with my own eyes, and yes, I’m impressed with the architecture. Our third location is Fort Cornwallis or Muzium Perang, which is located at Padang Kota. Here are some photos and video that we managed to capture …
Finally, our fourth and final location is Batu Ferringhi. Oh my God, I don’t remember when was the last time I went to a beach. 5-6 years ago, perhaps? Hahaha. I really love beach. It makes me feel calm by watching this nature of God’s creation. By the time we reached here, its almost 3.00pm and the weather was very hot. But yet, there were still so many people picnic. I guess they came here for vacation. Here are some photos and video that we took under the hot sun …
Batu Ferringhi, Penang
After that, we went to a shopping mall called Gurney Plaza. We prayed Asar and Maghrib and took our dinner here. At about 8.15pm, we left Penang Island and headed back to UKM. Alhamdulillah, we safely arrived UKM at 3.15am (19th October 2014). Everyone were exhausted but we really enjoyed our field trip. What I can say is the trip would be more enjoyable if we make it at least two days. However, I satisfied with all the photos, videos and experiences that I gained from this field trip.
I guess I have share a lot for my Week 6 Reflection. I think that’s all. See you again! 😀
Assalamualaikum and Hello! I’m very happy to see Dr Rosseni this week, as we haven’t meet her since last two weeks. I missed her smile … So for this week reflection, Dr Rosseni said that she would just have a short meeting as she had things to run later. Firstly, she told us that she’ll be not joining us for our field trip to Penang this coming 17th and 18th October because she needs to attend a course in Terengganu. She mentioned that the purpose of us going for the field trip is for us to train ourselves of how to capture photos and recording videos. Secondly, it is about the group video production. Dr Rosseni wanted all groups to send to her our groups’ video production proposal by last Friday. To be exact, she wanted the storyboard of all groups so that she can checks whether it is suitable. If she approved, then only we can proceed with our production. As the proposal, she only wanted a very simple storyboarding, as once she approved it, then we can fill up the proposal form.
One of my group members, Aika, was absent. So, me, Faiz, and Shira discussed about our group’s video proposal. It took us some times to think about the idea as Dr Rosseni said all of us are free to choose our own theme. After a long discussion and we did some research, we came out of the idea to make a narration video with the theme of friendship entitled “The Reminiscence”. Basically, the story is about a group of four people which are best friends. They used to spend time doing activities together like study, hang out and so on. A year later, after all of them have graduated their first degree, they decide to make a gathering. Two of them will be going together, while the other two will be waiting at a place. However, on their way to the place, they have an accident, and of them die. Then, there will be flashbacks of the activities they used to do together. We’ll try our best to create a tragic video. In the process of making such this video, in my opinion, teamwork and hardship are very important. We’ll try our very best. We’ll take the chance of going to the field trip to train ourselves of how to take photos and to record videos. To be honest, I am really enthusiast to start our video production. May Allah ease everything, Amin!
That’s all for my Week 5 Reflection. See you again later! 😉
